allergy season

Spring is in the Air

Spring season is such a lovely time of the year to connect with family and friends and partake in outdoor activities, however, with this blooming season comes a wave of allergy issues. Year after year, many suffer through this lovely season while drowning in symptoms which can be very debilitating. Most of the allergy symptoms are triggered by pollen, tiny grains in the air that play a role in fertilizing other plants. Although unavoidable,  there are many ways to mitigate and prepare to not only pull through the season, but thrive.

At Medi-Station Urgent Care we like to educate our patients on ways to identify these symptoms in advance and act to treat them before they get out of hand. Here are just a few ways you could prepare and minimize exposure to pollen:

  • Close your windows when driving

  • Vacuum and dust frequently
  • Shower before bedtime to avoid allergens into your bed

  • Avoid drying clothes outdoors to prevent pollen to settle in your clothing items

Depending on the severity of your allergies, these may just not do the job and you may still need to consider medical treatment to either alleviate the symptoms of seasonal allergies or mitigate the body’s response to airborne allergens. Here are just a few suggestions by VeryWellHeath.com, all of which we could help with at our center.
